The Last Unexplored Places on Earth

I realise that I never linked to that marvellous tweet illustration (of my tweet) done by cartoonist Beck. I think it's the best imagining of eight of my words that I've seen. Beck's characters are of the big-nosed, big-mouthed, fat, feckless, put-upon sort. Their small struggles become medium-sized to almost large ones. These too round creatures are too human. In other words, they're cartoons. Classic.

I feel a bit sheepish when I look at 'my' cartoon, because the drawing seems so much greater than the little words it sits on top of. And yet the cartoon needed the words. I guess, finally, it's a happy relationship.

'The last unexplored places on earth are indoors.'

'And for those of you who are hard of hearing—listen!'

A poor listener will listen for hours and hours.

Hurdy-Gurdy

The hurdy-gurdy sounds stranger than it sounds.
